'Let's Chart a new Path Together'
Church Leaders' workshop took place as scheduled 11am 7th July 2012, @ St. Lukes Community Centre, Canning Town London.
Church leaders from different denominations were in attendance, it was well attended, opening prayer was said by Pastor Olusegun Awe of the Crossway Church London
Speakers include HIV specialist Practitioner Brian Thornton, HIV/Sexual Health advisor Debbie Dauyoumor and the host Rev. Mrs Olayinka Bajomo.
The theme of the workshop was 'Let's chart a new path together' topics discussed include HIV testing, transmission, morbidities/mortality, prevention of stigma, adherence, infertility, sex education and prevention of teenage pregnancy.

The participants were later divided into groups to discuss the need for sex education in the church, what and how it will be taught.
Leaders from each group presented their points and generally, they all agreed that Sex education should be introduced and taught in the church via the Sunday school, men/women fora in form of seminar, in the youth groups in form of music entertainment, drama etc, Pastoral training should include sex education, parents should be actively involved, parents should be close to their children, while they are parents they should be their friends too in order to be able to penetrate. Contributors include Minister Bunmi Awe of Crossway Church, Rev Bolanle Ajibola of Peace Mission, Pastor Dr Dacosta of Hope Alive trust, Olabisi Clarke of Salem Ministries, Pastor Elizabeth Falade of Chosen women ministries, Pastor Margaret Musa of RCCG and Pastor Gbemi Olukoya Daniels of God Store House

Participants expressed their appreciation for the organisation of such a programme, they claimed it was an eye opener to a lot of sexual issues that they hitherto did not know, peoples' mindset about HIV, stigma and treatment also changed, they made up their minds never to be judgemental against PLWHIV and rather to be very supportive. They were so challenged that many were eager to know when the next workshop will come up, many also requested that these teachings be taught to their congregation later dates to be fixed.

The session closed with a closing prayer was said by Pastor Tunde Sobola a minister from New Testament Gospel Church and refreshments were served.Certificate of attendance was issued to each participant.
